The undernoted schemes may be of interest to anyone suffering from fuel poverty.

The Fuel Insecurity Fund of is available to support people at risk of self-rationing their energy use or self-disconnecting entirely, including consumers reliant on alternative fuel such as heating oil. The Fund provides support either as fuel vouchers, or via direct payments to their energy suppliers and is delivered via trusted third sector partners, namely the Fuel Bank Foundation (FBF), Advice Direct Scotland (ADS) and the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA). Anybody seeking access or information about the Fund, should contact Advice Direct Scotland at the following web address https://www.advice.scot/ or by calling 0808 800 9060.

Support is also available through the Warmer Homes Scotland programme which offers funding and support to households struggling to stay warm and keep on top of energy bills. The improvements offered will depend on a survey of the home. If a household is eligible, assessors will carry out a survey of it and recommend improvements suitable for the home, which could include a range of insulation and heating. Through Home Energy Scotland, households can apply for an interest free loan for a range of energy saving, bill reducing, low carbon technology from loft insulation to solar panels. Their advisors can discuss what measures may be suitable for you and your home.
