AYRSHIRE CANCER SUPPORT FOR 12-25 YEAR OLDS
Is there a business in Troon that deserves some national recognition?
As you know, the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) campaigns to protect the interests of smaller businesses and the self-employed. And we take every opportunity to celebrate the huge contribution the 358,575 Small and Medium-sized Enterprises operating in Scotland make to our economy and local communities. That’s why we have the FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards.
In the current, to say the least, challenging trading environment, these awards are an opportunity to showcase those local firms who go the extra mile for their customers, or have shown tenacity in overcoming obstacles, or simply have a great story to tell.
Year after year, Scotland’s businesses have punched above their weight at the FSB awards. Indeed, three of the four winners of the top UK national prize, the overall FSB UK Small Business of the Year, have come from Scotland: Cruise Loch Ness of Fort Augustus two years ago; Woodlands Glencoe of Ballachulish one year ago; and the Amity Fish Company of Peterhead in 2022. There’s no reason why 2023 shouldn’t continue this winning streak.
Wouldn’t it be great if a firm from South Ayrshire – and in particular Troon – was able to scoop one of the top prizes? They’re free to enter, open to all (FSB members and non-members) and with a category to suit all sectors – but the entry deadline for the Scotland Final is fast approaching: Thursday 19th January.
So, with 3520 registered businesses in South Ayrshire, if you think there’s a potential award winner or two in Troon, please do share this nomination link with them .

OUR COUNCIL PLAN SURVEY 2023-2027
We are developing our new council plan for 2023-2027. This plan will focus on the outcomes we want to deliver to create thriving communities and places in South Ayrshire.
We have been working with the Improvement Service to develop our plan, which has been drafted around 3 key priorities and will be underpinned by the fundamental principles of having people at the heart of what we do, equality and sustainability.
We are working in a challenging economic climate and want to make sure that our plan is deliverable, efficient and meets the needs of our communities. We want to hear what’s important to you, so that our plan reflects what matters to local people.
Please take a few minutes to let us know what you think and to make any comments or suggestions on our proposed priorities and high-level outcomes.
Please note this survey is also available in hard copy in our libraries and leisure centres, and on request by emailing CustomerServices@south-ayrshire.gov.uk
You can complete the survey here.
