South Ayrshire Community Planning Partnership (CPP) is thrilled to announce the launch of an innovative Green Health Calendar. This initiative is designed to inspire individuals to embrace nature to enhance their well-being.
The calendar, which will be available in both online and paper formats, serves as a monthly guide, offering a range of engaging nature-focused activities. Every month there’s a location to visit in South Ayrshire, a home-based activity and a fresh way for families to integrate nature into their day.
The calendar will officially launch on Friday 1 March on the South Ayrshire Ranger Service Facebook page. Paper versions of the calendar will be available in libraries, museums & galleries as well as in GP practices and pharmacies. A free event called “Unfurl Your Wings”, will then take place at Corsehill Gardens in Ayr, on Saturday 23 March. Everyone is welcome to attend. Our Ranger Service will be on hand at the event to introduce the Green Health Calendar. Together with Undersky, participants will also be able to connect with the beautiful spring wildlife of Corsehill. There will be opportunities for chat, crafts and play galore!
South Ayrshire Council’s Portfolio Holder for Buildings, Housing and Environment, Councillor Martin Kilbride, said: “I’m delighted to see this initiative launch.– It cultivates a stronger connection with the breathtaking natural world on our doorsteps while benefiting our mental and physical wellbeing. I’d encourage as many people as possible to come along to the free event at Corsehill Gardens on 23 March.”
Councillor Julie Dettbarn, Chair of South Ayrshire CPP said: “The Green Health Calendar is an exciting initiative, offering a range of engaging, nature-focused activities for all to benefit from. The launch event at Corsehill Gardens promises a delightful experience and a chance to connect with spring wildlife.”
